The deal, in plain English.
These terms cover what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. We've tried to keep them readable. If anything's unclear, email us.
Agreement
By using Tidelock, you agree to these terms. If you're using it on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind that company. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access. One person per account; share access through proper team accounts when those launch.
What you can monitor
Only domains you own or have explicit permission to monitor. Tidelock queries public Certificate Transparency logs and performs TLS handshakes against the hostnames you provide — both legitimate, non-intrusive activities. But submitting domains you don't control is a misuse of the service and grounds for termination.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- Use the service to attack, scan, or probe systems you don't own
- Reverse-engineer the service or scrape it at scale
- Resell or sublicense access without our written agreement
- Submit illegal content or use the service for illegal activity
- Try to break, overload, or interfere with the service
Service availability
We aim to keep Tidelock running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, and issues with upstream providers happen. During the beta, expect more rough edges than during general availability — that's the trade for being early.
Pricing and billing
The beta is free. When paid plans launch, we'll give you advance notice and a chance to choose a plan or cancel. You'll only ever be charged for what you've explicitly signed up for. Refunds are handled case by case — if you're unhappy, tell us.
Your data, your content
You own the domains and data you give us. We get a limited license to use it solely to run the service for you. Privacy details are in the Privacy Policy.
Our intellectual property
The Tidelock brand, software, and design are ours. Using the service doesn't transfer any rights to them. You can mention us, link to us, and tell people you use Tidelock — we appreciate it.
No warranty, limited liability
Tidelock is provided "as is". We do our best to send accurate, timely alerts, but we can't guarantee we'll catch every certificate issue — your renewal processes still need to be sound. Don't rely on Tidelock as your only safety net.
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.
Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account anytime. We can terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that harms us, our other users, or third parties — usually after warning you, unless the situation is urgent.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is material, we'll email you and update the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Prague, unless local law requires otherwise.
